Introduction

This clinic is a specialist alcohol detox treatment service, based in an 18th century "B" listed Historic Scotland building. Set in the tranquil countryside of North Ayrshire, the clinic aims to provide a private, safe and positive environment where the client will have the opportunity to explore and identify any personal changes they will require, in themselves and their surroundings to enable them to maintain an alcohol free lifestyle.

Quality treatment is provided by our multidisciplinary professional team who are experienced in working in the field of addiction.

The therapeutic treatment approach is informed by best practice and statistically proven research. This approach includes elements of the main therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing and the 12 step model.

The multidisciplinary treatment programme includes physical assessment, medically assisted detoxification, group therapy, lectures, 1-1 counselling, relapse prevention and participation in self-help groups.

Programme Overview

The clinic addresses the problem of alcohol misuse in a caring and sensitive manner. It provides a private, safe, and tranquil environment for clients to increase their awareness and understanding of their alcohol problem, identify potential triggers for relapse and learn new coping skills.

Our therapeutic treatment programme consists of:

• Counselling - We provide an individual counselling service by members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
• Group therapy - Group therapy has long been recognised as being one of the most effective methods for change for individuals experiencing addiction problems. You will participate in daily group work sessions focusing on many issues related to alcohol misuse.
• Recovery Presentations - Our recovery presentations educate clients by giving them an understanding of the power and impact of addiction. They also empower clients by encouraging them to take responsibility for their recovery and lives.
• Holistic Therapies - During your stay you will receive alternative treatments in our fully equipped treatment room by our fully qualified therapist designed to heal your body and mind. Therapies available include body massage, Indian head massage, hot stone massage, Swedish massage and Reiki.
• Self help groups - Clients are encouraged to access community self help groups that they can access through their treatment and after discharge to provide ongoing addiction support.

Facilities and Accommodation

The clinic is based in an 18th century house with a distinguished history. The accommodation offers tastefully refurbished single occupancy large ensuite bedrooms. Clients have use of two comfortable lounges, dining room and beautiful garden area with an ornamental pond.
